it’s so long… Jeff, did you update your documents? did you let them know you filed for divorce?

@Jeff C gonna be in the same boat as you 😭 I’m scared though because what if the divorce takes time and I don’t have the divorce decree to submit to them when they send an RFE 😭

@SinCity Whiskers did you file your initial i751 jointly or with a waiver? I’m guessing I have to update my i751 but I don’t know if I just send them a letter to let them know I filed for divorce or if I refile a full i751…

@Shanice K G I filed jointly with my husband. idk what the process is to start switching over to a waiver. All I know is that they need the divorce decree and more evidence of bonafide marriage to switch, but idk if you’re supposed to write them a letter before 😭

same… I’m so lost in the process! I will do some research and respond to the thread with what I found 🙏

We sent everything on may-June, saw the judge at the end of September and she told us that we were going to receive a letter after 30 days (I received it already few days ago) and have to wait 60-90 days more to receive the decree…. I asked a lawyer and he told me that he let them know about the divorce when he has the decree in hands
