I heard if you file it before you pass the processing time they will reject and say it is within in the normal processing time ? I see for green card for Asylee processing time is 19 months .

@Wise Man my case was at 17 months, I submitted mandamus the very day they increased it from 16,5 months to 19,5 months lol.

mine still waiting since may 2024 up to now maybe they forget us or they are no longer issuing GC

@Oliver Farm thank you. no, green card is never backdated to when asylum is granted (if it is, it’s USCIS error, and the card muse be replaced). the card is backdated one year back from the approval date, so mine says Nov 6 2024.

@Jose G7 I am a woman:) No, it’s not that necessary. I would wait till like 15 months, try to expedite it through normal channels, and then file at 17-18 months. It’s still not normal to process green cards for that long.
