GC Approved. Trust God's Timing
Hello Everyone,
I’m beyond grateful to share that my Green Card has been officially approved! 🌟 I filed my VAWA petition and I-485 concurrently back in May 2021, and after over 4 years of waiting, praying, and hoping, it finally happened.
To everyone still waiting for your VAWA or I-485 approval, please don’t lose heart. I know how heavy this journey can feel, the silence, the delays, the anxiety. But I’m here today as living proof that God’s timing is perfect, even when we don’t understand the wait.
- Sometimes the delay is not a denial, it’s just divine preparation.
- God sees your pain, your courage, and your perseverance.
- And when the time is right, He will make it happen.

@Tom Hank’s Hans Yes, more or less 4 years. My VAWA got approved only last July 2024. It took them a year to process I-485. Thank you.

Hi @Kavita Bhagwandin @nick fred The RFE I received was for the medical exam and to resubmit the I-485 using the updated version of the form. It came from the Field Office. I submitted my response in July, and the decision came a little over a month later. There was no interview.
I’ve had four, possibly five, work authorizations through VAWA and my I-485. I was also approved for Advance Parole multiple times and used it two or three times within a year. Hope that information helps.
If you've submitted your documents and haven’t heard back, don’t hesitate to submit an inquiry online or contact Customer Support. This journey hasn’t been easy, even for me. At one point, I even wrote letters to the White House and my Congressman just to get updates. Every time I submit a form, I also include a letter explaining the reason behind it. You have to stay proactive even if you have a lawyer.
For instance, I filed my I-765 and I-131 myself because my lawyer made mistakes the first time.

Hi @nick fred I received my Work Authorization and Advance Parole a few months after applying back in 2021. I submitted for every single renewal application six months before they expired (I didn't follow the 3-month rule). And also, I only got one RFE for my I-485.
I think at times, it really depends which Field Office is handling the case. Thank you.

gc case started moving right away with
RFE for medicals
they received it June 30th
after that one update
fingerprints applied to my i485 since July 16
