Form I-485 timeline check & inquiry advice
Hi everyone,
I wanted to check if anyone shares a similar timeline with me. I filed my I-485 just one month after my case was approved.
Is it reasonable to submit an inquiry WOM at this stage?
Also, have you seen or heard of any cases being denied simply for filing or inquiring around this timeframe?
Any insights or similar timeline data points would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

@Jesus is Lord . you’re mixing between writ of mandamus law suit and a congressional inquiry. you can submit a congressional inquiry, we have a very similar timeline and i submitted a congressional inquiry last week. If nothing happens by February I would consider wom

I believe USCIS is intentionally delaying the processing of Form I-485 and Form I-131 applications filed by individuals who have already been granted asylum. It appears that the government does not want asylum recipients to receive their Green Cards and Refugee Travel Documents in a timely manner.
A large number of cases were approved in September. However, as soon as September ended, USCIS appeared to shift its attention to October cases, while many pending cases continued to be delayed. I believe these delays may be intentional rather than simply the result of normal processing times.

@One Applicant May I ask why February?

@JAAT RAM 1000% agree with you

@JAAT RAM this is absolutely intentional. Integriting AI helped them in everything, but processing applications faster especially if they have anything to do with asylum.
They either want you to file wom & pay money, wait indefinitely, or they keep you around the corner & release new policies and keep applying them on us.

My asylum case was approved a month later. i filed my Form I-485 on June 16, About a month ago, I submitted a congressional inquiry. I received an email from the congressman's office stating that if there is no update within 3 months, they will follow up with USCIS again. I am currently waiting out that timeframe, after which I am considering filing a Writ of Mandamus (WOM)."

@JAAT RAM the push in September because it was the end of the fiscal year and they needed to meet their goals. now they are back to the normal lazy process

@Jesus is Lord . 22 months is the sweet spot for wom, not a requirement. also, to give the congressional inquiry 90 days
