FINANCIAL AID WITH PENDING VAWA
hello,i got a pending vawa since march 4th 2022 .
i never received a prima facie i only got a 5 years advance parole and a 5 years employment authorization.
i want to go to school for my LPN .can i apply for FAFSA? if yes under which category.i feel so sad because i’ve been in the country since 2015 i want to go back to school, i want to have a career i’ve been waiting for my vawa to get approved for over 3 years now. my ex husband is not helping me with our child,i need to have a sturdy income.
I’m exhausted, this process is eating me alive .,sometimes ifeel like giving up.😤

and I applied for fafsa and I got it and also got free education and I used my prima ficia so I will say you need a prima ficia letter

you need prima facie letter , expedite your case and send the reasons, expedition means nothing these days is same timelines but you might made them notice your case

apply and the school will ask you and don’t forget some schools don’t know about vawa and it’s benefits so you will need to explain to them and make sure you speak to the financial advisor who will do her research on it.i went through the same thing @waiting game

@mi am am in Massachusetts and I went to college and did my BSN-RN with vawa but I did show them my prima facie and I got financial Aid never paid and I went to a private college

my school didn’t knew about vawa I went to the financial aid website and all the information is there you can take a picture like I did and show them all school take it private or community and I still have a vawa pending I apply for vawa on 2022

you can get get fasfa with pending VAWA but you need your prima facie to get it approved.
