Emergency Advance parole
I have a friend who has a pending vawa application a parent died whom he has not seen it 4 years he contacted his lawyer to file an emergency advance parole to travel abroad for the funeral with his American citizen child ( not to a banned country) right now with all that is going on with immigration he said he will take his chances because if he does not pay his last respect he will not be able to live with himself… question # do you guys think it’s a good idea would you take the chance if it was your situation??

of course not, if you dont have an advance parole or a green card and you leave the country you won't be allowed back in

He should get an emergency advance parole and travel. He should schedule an info pass, he must go to their appointment with document showing his relationship with the deceased, maybe birth certificate or something. He will be fine

no absolutely not! VAWA is not approved, not secured they could see it as a voluntary departure. Even if provided with temporary documentation agents on the border are more detailed

I travled with the exact reason, had applied for emergency parole, they did approve and I believe I got it total in 3-4 days. no issues at all. it was a smooth reentry.

they print you a paper at the interview if they approve your emergency travel. you went to an interview and explain them your reason. Dallas airport and I was there for a little over 3 weeks. and yes vawa :)

just let him know, regardless they will be taking him to the secondary check at the entry. they just check your papers and let you go. it takes about 30 mins though

@everyone so everything was a success right after the EAP document was issued at the local field office my friend traveled to his home country the very next day for his dad funeral he returned on 7/7/2026 JFK airport spent like 30 mins in secondary inspection and it was a smooth process no hassle 👏🏾👏🏾 god is good
