EAD timeline
Hi all,
I’m very grateful for all the support I received from this community and wanted to return the favor in sharing my timeline. I’ve been extremely lucky that my EAD process has been very quick as I know many people are still anxiously waiting to get the card.
Just for context, my case is AOS through marriage and I filed EAD concurrently with I-485 and I-130. My priority date for all receipts is April 2021. Right now, my I-485 is at ready to be scheduled for interview status waiting at Queens field office in NY. Also, I requested to expedite my EAD after my biometrics were done.
Happy to answer any questions regarding my case. I’m ecstatic right now and hoping to share the good luck with everyone!

@clay S I did not expedite for the biometrics, I received notice in May that was scheduled for late June.

@jean a I picked the financial hardship/loss category and just explained my current situation. The agent did mention they might reach out via email for support/proof but luckily I did not get any. it went straight to approved status after July 4 holidays. hope that clarifies!

@i expedited my case last week on Monday and I still haven’t heard a response. every time I chat with an associate they tell me different statements, do you recommend calling them?

@Jessica S. I think the time frame they mention is around 5-10 days to hear back either requesting for more proof via email or approval, so I would wait until early next week once you fall out of the time range to follow up. calling might be easiest and most direct like you said online chatting can give you conflicting responses. hope you hear good news soon!

@Basia F yeah sure! I will let you know most likely I expect tomorrow it should update to say case is approved etc. then whenever they send the card out and USPS pick up I’ll get another update I think.

mine changed today to ‘case approved’ (also on AP) today which sounds backwards but I know people had this before so I’m not worried 😅

awesome took me 2 days to get the status change from request approved to new card is produced so hang on tight should be soon!

@Nique Tabouri I used the timeline app on lawfully and added in certain dates as not all events appear on the timeline.
