alright everybody!
1st) I spoke with a republican US Representative (I spoke with several different offices and found out it's valuable for them to be republicans because Republicans fight strongly for legal immigrants such as us while liberal representative offices can get bogged down by advocacy for people requesting help as illegal immigrants. you will be made the priority in a republican office. )
2nd) per the advice of the representative, I had my husband apply for jobs in the representative's district that are in high demand. our area needs help in the medical, educational, and supply chain fields.
3rd) once he got offers in the supply chain field (manufacturing), we requested the companies offering the job to write a short letter stating "we would like to hire Edwin as a mechanical engineer because he has skills that we currently are in need of. we are having a hard time finding people to hire in this field due to low numbers of applicants. please expedite his marriage based work permit so that we can hire him to fill this need"
4th) I submitted the offer letters and the statement above to the us representative as well as a statement and reciepts showing that I will not be able to continue my masters program if Edwin doesn't get a job soon to help cover the cost.
5th) the us representative wrote a letter about the desperate need for employees in this field and the value Edwin brings to our community. she submitted all this evidence to USCIS with an expedite request.
we received our card a couple weeks later!!

we were just notified of it this morning via lawfully so we don't have all the letters or acceptance things yet. but it was about 2 weeks ago that she submitted her file for me!
