Mine is for parents. it’s us greencard for immediate relative. I heard from others the wait time for an interview is 2 years

I think all of those immigrant visa interviews in India has a backlog of 2 years as per reply from others in the comment

I tried to reach out to US embassy Mumbai to know an average wait time but they told me to ask NVC. My mother is 70 years and lives alone in India. waiting another 2 years just for the interview is insane. does anyone know how to get it expedited anyhow?

parents case is different then spouse case like loo long

Even for the interview they do it by category? but spouse, parent, child within 21 all come under same category which is immediate relative

mine is IR5 too sponsoring my mother and I am waiting since 4 months now for an interview. Someone told me the waiting time in India is 2 years which is ridiculous

@Teena Pokhrel One of my friend is in similar situation and DQd last year June and hasn’t got interview yet. So, looks like 1-2 years of waiting time

@samarth h my younger brother is in his 19s only 15 months to be 21 , don’t think interview will be done before that. is there any way I can add my brother with my father case ?

@Teena Pokhrel 15 months is enough to get an interview. I just got mine for my mother. It is getting quicker and hopefully you get it to soon
