CR1 Processong Time
My son is a US citizen, married August 2021. Filed i130 January 5, 2022. His sweet wife is from Indonesia, but currently working in Hong Kong. Do you think this will delay processing? Where will the interview be? Our family is so anxious for her to be here. We love her so much already!

it will be where you specified on your 130 petition.

I'm sure that your son specified that his wife is residing in Hong Kong. I'm sure that your excited. But I urge you to temper that with realism. Things are SLOW. I petitioned for my wife in Morocco one year and our application has not even gotten past the bureaucrats at USCIS (Texas Center). after that is approved, then we have to wait for NVC to do whatever they do, forward it to the embassy in Casablanca, then wait for an appointment to be available. it took one friend of mine three years to get his wife here from South Africa, and he's an active duty Army Sergeant Major. I have another close friend who married a very nice lady from Indonesia. He got tired of waiting and moved to Indonesia. Honestly, he's a lot happier now

To answer your question specifically. The US has a consulate in Hong Kong. The only "delay" (beyond what already exists) is if while waiting for the bureaucrats to finish their coffee in Texas, that relationships go south between the US and China and we pull the embassy out of China. or if another pandemic happens that they use to not show up to work. the world moves fast nowadays
