has anyone received their green card but not their SSN ? I got my green card but i didn’t get my SSN and i’m not sure who to call to get update on that. If anyone can give me advice.

you can go social security office make an appointment with green card then should be able to issue to ssn number

you can call your local social security office and they will be able to direct you further with what to do

it usually comes in mail about 2 weeks after you receive your green card or you can just go in person to apply

i thought they automatically send you SSN after you receive your green csrd. i called the local social security office and i asked her if she can check my status on their system but instead of checking, she advices me to come in person and apply which will take up to 30 days.

if i go to the office to apply for SSN, would they give me the SSN number in their office for my husband tax purposes?
