cheng Madrid, the first status of approval is “new card is being produced” then is “case approved” and then is “card has been mailed to you” so I believe you have already passed that status which says “new card I being produced”.

Things to do after receiving GC: Fill up updated form i-9 advising your employer of change in status Go to SSA office and get an updated ssn card without restrictions Get an updated driver license without restrictions Start maintaining details of your travels dates because this will be needed for filling naturalization form Make sure to file taxes as Resident (you should already be doing this if you are staying here for long time) Update immigration status in various financial institutions where you havr accounts - banks, brokerages etc Get ssn for dependents if you didnt have earlier

i already called SSA the officer told me that the USCIS is the one who will process our SSN.. and also he said to me that i need to wait until Aug9 to arrive my ssn if i never receive after aug9 need to call them back.

@cheng madrid, did you received the ssn card that says valid for work only with DHS authorization??? So you are saying that USCIS is going to process the one without that restriction??

@angeli rogers i did not apply for ead so i never had the ssn valid for work.. yes USCIS will process the one without restriction according to SSA..
