Biometrics are taken as part of the I-485 AOS form but they will apply your fingerprints also to your I-765.

My biometrics was taken for both I-485 and I-765. You should see receipt numbers for both cases at the bottom of the ASC appointment notice.

my biometrics were taken only for the I-485 and after a month, I got a case update on my EAD saying fingerprints were applied to my case and then next day it was approved. so yah if it says i485 only they can easily apply it to your EAD, it doesn’t mean you will go to interview directly.
