Asylum granted while waiting on marriage decision
hey community,
I just got my asylum case granted through immigration court after 8 years of waiting.
I’m married to U.S citizen and my I-130 is in process.
what’s the next step in this situation? can I apply for the green card once my I-130 approved or do I have to wait for year because of the asylum process?!

after one year or when your I-130 approved.you can apply for I-485.

you can apply 485 through marriage right away or you can apply 485 based on asylum after 1 year .

im not on the active schedule hearings , i submitted my i 130 14 months ago , but no response so far. hopefully soon.

what I did is I requested an expedited request for my hearing. my attorney found who’s my judge is and sent him requests to expedite the hearing, in ten days from submitting the request my hearing got scheduled. and it was not the master calendar hearing, I was actually scheduled for the individual hearing right away. good luck
