Are they skipping the “Ready to be Scheduled” stage now?
I chatted with a live agent today via Emma and inquired about my case I-485 status and receipt notices for AP and IED applications I made 3 weeks ago.
For my case status, she said they were waiting to book interview even though it says actively being reviewed on my account. Does it mean that it doesn’t go to “ready to be scheduled for an interview” anymore? Just from “actively being reviewed” to “interview scheduled”?
It would just be nice to not be kept in the dark all the time. This “actively being reviewed” status does not let one know what stage of the process they’re in.

they have skipped some interviews for 485 yes. The one I saw posted today was on Reddit. Couple was together for 10 years and had proof of that via bank accounts/pics etc. They got married recently and were approved for green card without interview. I think it’s up to officer and each individual case

the online status is not updated to correctly reflect your status 100%. the only foul proof way for you to find out what’s going on with your case is to call them, unfortunately

@Michael Song: Apparently so. However they complain when you call or chat with them and remind you to rely on other online resources like the status checker or your online account which as you said, can not be relied upon. Well, I guess I’ll keep contacting them against their wishes.

@Mr KH: When you launch the Emma app, type “live agent” and it will ask you to choose from a list, what your case concerns. Choose case status. It will ask again if it can help you, just type “Live Chat”. It will then ask you for a case or alien number. When you submit that, it will connect you to the live chat.

It is just better to sit and wait because almost everything that we hear are speculations. No one can for a fact say what is going on. EMMA will direct you to live agent. live agent is rushing to leave the chat. they can't tell you nothing about your case. just pray. USCIS doesn't even go by the dates. Some people have have been waiting for approval for more than a year.
