Approved!!! I-130 for spouse
Good morning all,
I wanted to share a good news that our I-130 application was just approved this morning. This community has been very helpful so I wanted to share my timeline and experience in case it helps anyone. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Priority Date:: 3rd March 2021. Legal permanent resident filing for spouse overseas.
Received receipt from California service center but USCIS online portal said the case is being processed at Nebraska service center.
1 month later in April, I received a letter from USCIS with information on how to setup online account, that letter came from Texas service center.
Since then no movement until October 1st, I got a notification that the case is being actively reviewed. On Nov 12th, I received an RFE asking for my passport size photos not my spouses who is the beneficiary. But the lawyer recommended we send photos of both, the lawyer did the overnight shipping on Monday, it was received by USCIC on Tuesday. My account was updated on Wednesday with "response received".
This morning I woke up to a notification that my case is being actively reviewing (this was the 2nd actively reviewing and I have seen people in this group receiving approval letter after 2nd actively reviewing). So right away I opened my account and under documents tab I saw the approval notices.

@medya, no expedite request. we tried but USCIS came back saying it's within normal processing time.

@medya, I have cellphone and email notifications on. So every time USCIS make any changes I get notifications on emails and via text. You can do that on USCIS case status portal.

pls, how do I open email to receive updates mail from uscis, waiting for ny i-130 approval approval, my case is being actively reviewed since June 11th 2021. after my response to RFE received on December 30th 2020, but I am still within the processing time in Texas service center.

@fatai, you can create ab account on USCIS case status portal and from there you can enter your case receipt number and then it gives you option to select phone and email notifications.
also, have you received receipt notice from USCIS on how to setup an online account? if yes, you should check your account, under the document tab of your case you will be able to see any notices USCIS has sent you. I feel like if you submitted RFE response in Dec and USCIS updated the case to actively reviewing after that in June you should have received an approval.

@Sunny Congratulations! I am preparing for applying I 130 for my spouse overseas. This post has given me some hope. May I know where is your spouse overseas? Does it makes any difference. My spouse is in India and I will be filing from Atlanta area.

@floridaeb3, my spouse is in Pakistan. Not sure if the country would matter but the service where your case will go will matter as each service center has its own processing time.

@Sunny_Khu my wife fill my case march 2021 case center is Nebraska and i received the notice that case is being actively reviewing by the uscis.

congratulations! in my case, I have been waiting eagerly for approval and it's been 520 days. haven’t gotten any response from the Usics California service center
