nope when I went to my interview they saw I was in removal proceedings so they temporarily closed my I-485. after I went to terminate my removal proceedings. then after I went to reopened my I-485 case and then they approved my case.

wonderful I had to refile my case got stuck in Texas over a year after the court dismissed it

@sam mind takes about 3 months didn't have to go to the court but it also depends on the case

how did you terminate your removal proceedings? cause I’m in removal proceedings I didn’t terminate my case and it’s been almost 4years I not hearing anything about my case even after the interview for i130

I am in removal process and my asylum case has been denied and I applied for motion to Reopen my case and mainwhile my wife she was green card holder and now become us citizen and can I apply to adjustment of status I 485 while my case pending with BIA

@ali khan you need to have your wife apply for your i130 you going to need that to help terminate your case if it gets approved then you file i485 in immigration court are go to uscis and file but if you file i485 now you just going to waste your money cause uscis cannot do nothing until your clear from removal get a lawyer your going to need one

@Ali khan tas smith is right, I use my I-130 approval to terminate my removal proceedings.

@ali khan did u upgrade her status of citizenship? ı was the same. And on march ı became a citizen and sent the documents of citizenship to uscis.

@ali khan you need to call uscis and tell about your situation. request an upgrading. you will have an email from your service center. upload your naturalization documents on ur uscis account with a cover letter. (include ı-797C receipt noa for i130, naturalization certificate, ıf u have us passport, your green card image, cover letter with ur case number). And send the same documents to mailing adress on i797 receipt for i130.

@almost there my lawyer just contacted uscis on may 9 to reopen my I-485 case and attached my Termination of removal proceedings with it. on May 20 I got a notification that my case was approved.

congrats arnaud. im on the same boat. interview in 3 weeks. hopefully they will approved my i-130 so i can terminate my removal proceeding. i filed i-130 in november 2020 and no news. have to submit i-485 in feb 2022 so i can get interview. how long does it take for u for ur removal proceeding to be terminate ?

my interview will be in 3 weeks. interview is definitely for both

@domino22 If everything goes well at the interview they would closed your I-485 and approved your I-130. that way u can go close your removal proceedings with the I-130. it took me 34 days to terminate it with a lawyer. it was at the Philadelphia immigration court

what is best time to apply I-485 once I-30 approved and you can terminate your removal then should apply i-485 or just apply before i-30 approval and get interview and then close i -485 and terminate removal and apply agian i -485?

no right or wrong. my lawyer and i talked about both option. so its really up to you and ur lawyer. i choose this way because my i-130 hasnt been approved since november 2020

so my biometrics will be up in 4 months what happened then if my case is not complete I have to start all over again they already told me they going to reuse my biometrics

not yet. my case is not even terminated yet so I won’t get anything right now. just follow the letter. there’s 2 scenarios, either u get RFE or u will get interview date wait is the case reopened for i-130 or I-485 ???

I don’t think you have to do another interview, if your case status saying “ interview completed and my case must be reviewed” and your case was waiting for the termination letter then it should be no interview but keep us posted please , good luck for you

sam : during my interview the IO didn’t conduct I-485. she told me from the beginning she can’t proceed with I-485. at the moment in my USCIs account it said cased closed ( Tiny letters ) and status “interview was scheduled”

@lastdance everyone case is different so I’m not too sure. the judge should terminate if u have I-130 approve. field office is Philadelphia

I already had the I-485 interview before the termination. it took like 30 days for it to be terminated by the judge with an I-130 approval. and my case was reopened after like 20 days and they approved my GC
