@robin h not necessarily. I have been coming to JFK without any issue. I used AP for over 10 times. every case is different i guess.

Hi@m&m s , I remembered you since I was waiting for mine , what I experienced with uscis was that always always Fight for your rights. they mede lots of mistakes during I was waiting, finally Got my green card through the vawa after 5 years . applied 12/28/2020 got it 02/05/2025 . hopefully I can apply for citizenship without any long wait time.

@waiting_since Jan_2020 @m&m s ; they made big mistake on my case 485 , my application was closed to deny. what I did wrote 3 letters from 3 different senators and congressman. they answered to one of them , said to re-send my medical to them . which they had 2 weeks ago, and I saw I didn’t get any response, made an info /pass appointment, supervisor said my application officer was out the office for board control , however she will put note on my application as soon as my officer back to office. 3 weeks passed nothing changed. what I did wrote a letter and inform them I wil applay for mandamus witheen two weeks of this latter. So after second day my 485 approved. during my wait time I kept involved senators and congressmans , every days I called them and recorded them , all of them helped me because I attended them on my letter.

That is an extremely long VAWA wait. “Correspondence received and reviewing” means USCIS has something in the file, but it does not tell you approval timing. I would submit a case inquiry if outside normal processing, then congressional inquiry, Ombudsman, and consider mandamus if the delay is unreasonable and the case is ready. @m&m s I want share something its a not positive newes still decided to post here. I m not spreading negativity One of my friends from my lawyer’s office recently got his case denied after waiting for years. They even filed a 290B appeal, but that was rejected too. USCIS apparently investigated all the documents very deeply, and some old bank accounts he submitted the account was already closed, so they questioned the documents and denied the case. Hearing this honestly made me really stressed and frustrated. People wait for so many years hoping everything will work out, and situations like this are really scary and heartbreaking. this person already got divorced 3 years ago so no chance of reapplying.

@m&m s he got RFE, then I-360 approved. later they denied it. I felt very sad by hearing it. let’s hope for the best. one day a good news will come. let’s wait for it
