it was very easy. I was taken into a room and the question asked was my house address. everything took less than 5 minutes

everyone situation is different and depend on the security officer! I would advise you to not take risk and just wait to be greened!

@Godsfavorite you are welcome. I wanted to go visit my parents also but lawyer advised me to wait and not risk because I overstayed my tourist visa

@fd di idk where y’all get incompetent lawyers from lol. keep on waiting. you’ll be surprised to see a lot of people with AP on your trip

i got lawyer not for that but for specific personal reason required so I don’t experience more delays. Everyone doesn’t have simple case and if they can afford lawyer to have a peace of mind why not? I have been in this for 2 years so sometimes it is required. US immigration is with luck you never know what to expect. What works for one may not work for others. In my case I overstayed my visa and traveling is risky. At the end of the approval notice, they add a note saying that AP doésnt grant us entry and only the officer will decide.

@fd di I have friends who have difficult cases. you probably think your case is difficult, wait until you meet/see people with cases more difficult than yours. tbh they don’t care if you over stay. as long as you don’t have criminal background then I don’t see why you can’t use it

yes, you can use it. my first green card application was denied as well before I reapplied and got new advance parole. so you are fine and good to go. bring goodies from Nigeria.

I have used my advance parole twice now. it all very simple. I travel to Nigeria with it.

Thanks @ fola Femi & infor@usimmigration. I was about to cancel my ticket but your posts and experience has given me a big boost. But I read someone here say its not safe if your case has been pending for up to 2yrs. What's your take on that?

@shari mc were you pulled aside or taken to a room for questioning?

@Praise the 2 years pending had nothing to do with AP. My issue was the fact I overstayed my ESTA visa because of some personal reason.
