Reschedule Biometric
My wife just got her biometric notice, is it possible to reschedule and what are pro/con of rescheduling if any other than the most obvious? we are attending my brother retirement who’s in the US Navy and won’t be in town at the original schedule for biometric.
any advise appreciated.

No need to reschedule just go prior to your appointment date...

@Zeki how can you go prior to appointment if the date is already set? should she call and just try to schedule before we leave?

do not reschedule, if you have the letter in hand just go a walk-in.
they will take your fingerprints.

I did mine 3 weeks before the scheduled date

@Yves V Even if the date is set it doesn't really matter depends on you ASC...most people did walk in 2wks or 1wks before there actual date...little advice don't reschedule it might take longer to get another appointment...

@Yves you welcome...When is your Biometric Appointment date?

@Yves If the weather is good you can go few days before your initial date..There is no harm in trying
Yv3S VSep 26, 2021
@Zeki, might try on the 8th since we are leaving out of town a little early. worse they can do is say ‘no can do’.

@Yves - If walkin, pls try a week before with supporting details that you wont be local on interview date. For any reason, if they say no, it gives time for you to reschedule before actual bio date. Do walkin when ASC not busy, after 11 or 12
Yv3S VSep 26, 2021
@Murali, yes- I will have her try as soon as we get the notice with all supporting documents that’s shows we’d be attending a Military retirement. I appreciate the times you shared, we’ll definitely shoot for a less busier time. thank you!

let her go in now and do it, they will allow her. Do not reschedule

I did my bio 2 weeks prior to the appointment date.

@M A A- I appreciate it. this forum has truly been beneficial. hopefully, she gets the official letter this week, and I’ll ask her to do a walk in. Thank you!

tried the walk-in at the local ASC and was denied 🙅. though was told not to reschedule but rather come after the scheduled date and they either accommodate, which don’t make sense cause that’s the same as a walk-in.

this is surprising. try and Go there early in the morning when they open...
Yv3S VSep 29, 2021
@M A A …. yes it’s unfortunate they couldn’t accommodate. there was a post on the door stating no walk-ins, but wife asked anyway and explained the situation. the main immigration officer stated they couldn’t accommodate her at the time, and she can come back the day(s) after her scheduled appointment and they would then see her, which doesn’t make sense because it’s still a walk-in at the end of the day! sigh :(. anyways, on our way home, phoned USCIS and they advised not to miss the appointment whatsoever and this reflects badly on the application/applicant. They also advised that they’ve been getting complains from applicants missing their biometrics because they were being asked to come back after the scheduled bio, but was being rejected afterwards. We ended up rebooking all our trip to be back in town for the original scheduled bio. This is so much more important than any trips cause my wife’s employment opportunities rely on it.
