n-600 citizenship acquired at birth.
hi! I filed it in 04/21. got approved for expedited processing on 06/18/21, on 08/13/21 I received a request for evidence asking for 2 passport style photographs. they received my photos on 08/16/21 and I am still waiting for their decision. does anyone know what’s next?? I had another case with USCIS and they had my biometrics in June too. Do I have to wait for an interview or just for the certificate? my attorney says I have a lot of evidence but I can’t wait more. any advice would be appreciated. thanks!!

hi. I can . I got my certificate of us citizenship in late January 22. I filed it in late April 21.. I got a Request for evidence In august asking for 2 passport style photographs ( I did send the 2 photos when I filed) I never had a green card.
my father naturalized as a us citizen in 1984 and I was born in 1987. he legitimized me some days after birth (he traveled to be present on my birthday) and he sent me child support every month. I had the receipts and I enclosed them at filing. also an affidavit of my aunt, his sister stated I has been a member of the family all my life and my father always wanted me to live here but he passed away. I had letters he sent to me and my mother before I was born and after, I had pictures when my mother is hospitalized after delivering me and he was there, carrying the baby (me lol) also pictures proving that every time he went to peru he visited me and when I visited the us for the first time he took me to Vegas and I lived with him and my siblings for a short period of time. I included also an affidavit of my mother explaining how they met, fell in love and made me 😅😅. because they didn’t get married and that’s why I lived with my mother all my life. I also included a sworn statement from a lawyer from my country explaining that according to the laws, legitimacy of a kid makes a person financially responsible for the kid , because one requirement was to prove he accepted to financially support me before I was 18. and he was the one who signed my birth certificate.

I included his naturalization certificate. I had to request it from USCIS because my father passed away and nobody had the certificate or the passport. USCIS sent me like 42 pages of immigration information from my deceased father and I had more proofs for my case since I also needed to prove he lived here more than 5 years. he actually lived here more than 10 before I was born so I was 🍀 lucky.

I hope I included everything but if you have questions you can ask me. I work for the lawyer who prepared my case. and I have been tracking it every day since I filed. I expedited it in June and in August I received the letter.. I sent my pictures in express mail so they received a couple of days after they issued the letter. i downloaded it from my USCIS online account and they received my envelope before I received the physical letter. then in October they opened the envelope and approved my case without interview. I took the oath in January.
in October I found out I was approved even when my case status still showed the request for evidence. I knew I was approved because the lawyer sent a request to my congressman representative and the same day we knew It was approved.
hope your case was properly file and they can adjudicate your application soon!
good luck!

Amanda Laura did you attend interview?
amanda LauraMar 29, 2022
hi. No . I never had an interview… they only requested passport style photographs (I did send them at filing but they probably lost them) and my certificate states I became a us citizen when I was born.
cc Mel MelMar 29, 2022
wow thank you for replying. I applied for N-400 naturalization and I was denied USCIS told me I’m already citizen through my US citizen father,so I should apply for N-600. I applied like 2 months ago and I’m still waiting because N-600 take longer to process . I didn’t pay any money for the N-400 that was denied and the N-600 because I’m in the military. my dad moved to the United states 2000 when I was week old and he became citizen 2013 when I was 13 years old. I move to the United States 2014. will the date on my certificate be the same as the date on my dad certificate 2013 or the year I moved to the US 2014? I also called USCIS to expedite my case because I will be going on deployment.
amanda LauraMar 29, 2022
uhm. good question and I have no idea.. sorry! have you tried to apply for a passport? it’s quicker
cc Mel MelMar 29, 2022
No I haven’t apply for passport yet because the certificate is important to me right now. The military is asking for my citizenship certificate to give me security clearance. they need a copy of my certificate not the passport. I wanted to apply for the passport but Admin on base said they need the certificate not passport. Passport is good for travel but I need my own certificate for the future if I lost the passport.
amanda LauraMar 29, 2022
🙌 yes. hopefully they approve the expedited process. let us know!
