Looking for advise
I currently hold an H-1B visa and plan to apply for adjustment of status. Since I do not need an EAD or advance parole, would applying for these documents for myself or my family help expedite the I-485 process in any way, even indirectly?

Is it recommended to apply or not apply for EAD and advance parole in this scenario?

No, it doesn’t expedite your I-485 process. if you don’t need it, don’t waste your money

@Da Da I think it’s your choice, they are different applications and don’t really have any effect on your I-485 process. That’s my thought!

i think it’s always good to have the EAD and AP as a backup just in case (e.g if your H1B stamp expires and you need to travel, etc).

agreeing with my predecessors. if you have to pay for EAD and AP yourself then don’t, otherwise do apply for them.
Advantage:
EAD/AP are valid for 5 years, no need to renew your H1B (if running out)
Disadvantage:
Besides the additional cost, there’s a risk to be out of status if you’re on EAD/AP and your I-485 gets denied. H1B is a good backup and will not cause you to be out of status
