Did you get done with your GC interview? And got the EAD after that? But no update on GC approval?

and ead got approved 1 yr after filing but like 2 weeks after the interview

I understand your confusion. I am so sorry for the delay. My interview is on Oct 12, 2021. No sign of EAD yet. PD is Oct 2020. NBC and field office is Kansas City. Mind if I ask yours?

I think it’s different departments processing because we applied for ead and green card at the same time. I did my interview, 2 hrs status changed and I got my green card in the mail. a week later I got my ead and travel docs.

I think it depends on the particulars of each case maybe? I’m was living in Canada and my hubby is American. He worked in the NY and as we were dating he would fly every week to Toronto to see me. When I came to see him in ny, we just decided to get married. So at that time we just applied for a change in status to 485, ead, travel docs etc. We got one rfe cause they lost a year of my hubby’s tax docs. I got my 2 year green card at the 6 month mark because I got anything else. In fact I had green card in hand and the rest of the cards arrived. We now just applied for removal of conditions and that seems to be taking longer than the intial green card. I think it depends on each situation and the fact there are so many different departments. I recall going into the interview and the lady barely asked 1 questions because we submitted so much proof of joint apartment lease in Canada, him traveling every weekend to see me and he added me to his us credit cards as we were dating. we also had a joint bank account back home too.
