hello
hello my initial OPT ended on 18 -may-2021.. and I had applied for STEM extension EAD in april 2021...recd an RFE in august...replied and recd by uscis on 20 sept....currently working under the 180 day extension granted by uscis from 18 may till 18 nov 2021...I m waiting for STEM extension EAD...its just one month left ..what to do?.. any suggestions...if it doesn't come by then ..then should I apply for unpaid leave? ..

seen people getting opt stem in less than 30days. I got mine exactly 60 days

you should talk to your DSO lol. he will have an easier time contacting them than you ever will. try shooting an email see where it’s at

doubt your congressman can do anything. this isn’t AOS or naturalization case. call them and try to reach a representative to see what’s going with ur case

just trying is not enough. you gotta keep trying until someone answers. if they hang up or write you off, you call again and wait until they pick up. if you don’t reach out to them, they’re not gonna do anything to speed it up.

I was on stem opt before I got my gc. my extension was granted in a month though. there’s nothing you can really do if your DSO can’t help you out and you don’t want to get through to USCIS. it’s not easy getting someone on the phone, but if you don’t want to leave your job for god knows how long, you’re gonna have to bite the bullet until someone responds on their end
