EAD expedite request
I am F-1 student. I summited I-485, I-765 and got the receipt notice on June 23, 2021. However, my I-20 will be expired on December and I will complete my program. I don’t have enough funds to continue to study. Is it okay and reasonable to send an EAD expedite request? if yes, when is the good time to send? thank you very much

send it any time but what is your reason for expediting? remember when you were going for study you told them you have fund to complete your study. Make sure your reason for expediting is okay.

thank you. well, I have funds to complete my current school but I don’t have fund to continue to transfer to the higher school. 😅

I am on F-1 too and expiring in 3 weeks, haven’t submit expedite. A friend of mine did and got rejected, received a letter stating as an F-1/OPT you should have your own money to fund yourself and your school. you can’t claim hardship or money issue based on F-1/OPT

I’m an F1 as well. I did my adjustment before end of my OPT. now, I’m just waiting for my work permit even though I have a job offer. I think you should use your OPT and maintain your F1 status if you can.
