asked live agent about my case and her response was- Your case is currently being processed at the National Benefits Center. The most recent review by a USCIS officer took place on 05/27/2026. Please note that USCIS does not provide case-specific details for these types of updates, so additional information about that review is not available. Each case is assigned to an officer when arriving at any USCIS location.
At this time, your case is actively processing and progressing as expected. There are no outstanding requests or additional information required from you at this stage. Your case is undergoing the necessary internal processing and background checks that must be completed prior to a final decision.
Once a case is received and entered into the system, it remains under continuous review by USCIS officers. While your case may not be worked on daily due to overall caseloads, it remains in the processing queue.
According to immigration regulations, an immigration officer should interview each applicant for adjustment of status. However, USCIS officers may determine, on a case-by-case-basis, that it is unnecessary to interview certain adjustment of status applicants. USCIS will notify you whether or not an interview is necessary. USCIS agents no longer have access to view if an interview has been waived, only when it has been requested for scheduling or scheduled.
Does it mean that my file has been opened and is in review? Will i receive an rfe for medical soon?

PD: Dec 10 2021
Interview: July 23 2025
Me and my wife we both filed together. Interview went pretty smooth. I hadn’t worked for my employer till the interview date was kinda nervous about it but it all went well. My interview just asked Yes/No questions, when did I come to US and on which visa (F1) and all have you ever question. Couple of questions regarding work, which company, pay ans etc. I was asked when have they called for you to work and I replied they have called me after I got my GC. I took my lawyer with me just to be on a safe side. I was interviewed on Dallas field office.
July 30 2025: Interview was completed and need further time for review and was sent to NBC
June 08 2026: We cancelled your interview for I-485 and mailed you cancellation notice. This came from New York field office which is not my local field office. My local
field office is Dallas.
June 09 2026: Case was approved. Me and my wife both of our case got approved today.
Good luck guys you are almost there.
suggestion on further action
My time line:
Asylum case approved by San Francisco Immigration judge on Jan 3, 2024
mailed I485 form exactly after 1 year- Jan 3, 2025
i485 receipt date Jan 8, 2025.
It has been exactly 17 months(yesterday) since USCIS received my greencard application.
I actively read all the Asylum related posts in this community. One thing I have seen is greencard issuance right now is completely random. Seen people waiting for 3-5 years or more and also seen people getting approved in less than 15 months(who applied for GC in less than 1 year after asylum case approval).
I’ve seen WOM giving positive results to some while it getting dismissed for others.
Here I am seeking suggestions from you guys on how I should go about my application. I know there is no definitive answer. I am thinking of doing an inquiry through the local congressman’s office and then do a WOM. One strong point for me is that I waited the 1 year mark before applying for Green card so my total time since Asylum approval is 29 months (17+12).
I know 17 months vs 18 months does not make any significant difference. but do you think I should wait 1 more month to do the congressman inquiry just for the sake of it?
I am from one of the 75 countries but not from the 39 countries list.

Has anyone else here had the same issue?
My case was approved by USCIS, but it has not been transferred to the NVC yet.🥺🥺
My husband is a green card holder and he filed an I-130 petition for me on July 26, 2022. My case was approved by USCIS on January 21, 2026. However, the case has still not been transferred to the NVC.
We contacted the NVC to ask why we had not received a welcome letter, and they replied that they do not have our case in their system. After that, we contacted USCIS multiple times and submitted two inquiries, but there has been no progress or update so far.#greencard

Second Time using AP w sijs and pending gc
Hi guys, just a small comment about my last trip, first im sijs, w my i485 pending for about 3 years, and my AP approved a year ago, i went to my country last september, and yesterday i just came back to USA by Miami airport, they took me to second inspection, miami was 100% easier than JFK, so if you have your AP, use it 🙌🏾
